It’s Not You it’s Your Why
Is there something that keeps coming up for you?
Something that you truly desire from your life, want to try, shit maybe you really want to achieve, but you constantly push it down, brush it off, tell yourself it doesn’t matter?
A thing you are avoiding, an objective, opportunity, or option you are not choosing but know you need to?
Well, the real reason you haven’t committed is becuase your WHY isn’t strong enough.
Lately, I am talking to too many people who don’t care enough about their health.
Death, disease, and dysfunction are apparently not great enough whys for them.
…and I’m sorry, but in regards to your health, this lack of why is going to punch you in the face one day.
Or it could just hit you like a truck if you’re not careful.
For years, people get tapped on the shoulder, poked in the gut, maybe kicked in the shin. But as time passes and they disregard these reminders and things have gotten worse.
Then something FORCES them to step up. The classic stuck between a rock and a hard place. NO ONE LIKES THIS FEELING, but they bring it upon themselves. Most likely in the form of illness.
I was sick for a week (which is why I didn’t write to you), and it made me think HOLY FUCK if I felt like this all the time… well… yeah DARK thoughts.
Did you notice how my little Y buddy up there has an L bottom? Those weren’t cool shorts. He was turning into a fucking L. My dark thoughts will become your dark realities if you don’t take care of yourself.
You will LOSE OPPORTUNITIES, LOSE YOUR MOBILITY, and then you will in fact LOSE YOUR LIFE.
Let me soften for a moment before I drive this home, sorry, I am about 2 coffees deep.
Also, look I have been pouring my ice coffee into a whiskey glass becuase I don’t drink anymore but it makes me feel like a edgy hardworking writer.
If I am writing this and you are taking care of your health, then great, KEEP DOING YOU!
You are living your best life and I’d instead ask that you send this to someone who, needs to hear it.
But if this is irritating you, then KEEP reading and listen up.
You need to be exercising. Walking is not enough. Resistance training is a requirement and challenging your cardiovascular system is a necessity too.
You need to be watching what you eat, eating mostly whole foods and nailing your protein intake. Minimum 0.8g per lb of body weight for starters.
You need to be sleeping, hydrating, and socializing for your mental health. People need people time!
PLEASE. DO NOT LET THIS POKE PASS YOU BY.
MAKE THIS CHANGE. FIND A STRONGER WHY AND BUILD A STRONGER YOU!
…and let’s not just prevent you from taking an L (losing your fun life), let’s get you back to LIVING IT.
